In 2007, Federal® introduced the BallistiClean® Slug, a non-toxic, frangible training round. This slug is matched to the ballistics of our Tactical® Slug for identical performance, allowing shooters to get the same point of impact, velocity and felt recoil of our lead loads. This feature makes the transition from training round to duty load seamless. In addition, the non-toxic projectile eliminates the hazard of airborne lead and barrel fouling, making it perfect for indoor training. The round also features a patented Toxic-Metal Free® primer that provides consistent and reliable ignition, and has a non-toxic cartridge marking for easy identification. Finally, clean-burning powder gives this load consistent velocity and optimum ballistic performance.
